DECEMBER 2017 Fishing Report

INSHORE:

  • REDFISH AND TROUT ARE STILL ON THE FLATS EVEN AFTER THIS RECENT COLD SNAP. WE PLAN ON THE REDFISH STAYING IN THE AREA AND THE TROUT EVENTUALLY WILL BE MOVING TOWARD THE RIVERMOUTHS 
  • ARTIFICIAL FOR REDS: USING ALOT OF SOFT BAITS SUCH AS WHITE ZMAN SCENTED PADDLERS AND STORM BAIT FLUKES SUCH AS THE 360 GT. YOU CAN FIND THOSE BAITS AT HALF HITCH TACKLE IN THE LOCAL AREA.
  • ARTIFICIAL FOR TROUT: PADDLETAIL BAITS AND CHARTREUSE SOFT BAITS.

NEARSHORE:

  • FLOUNDER ARE ON THE NEARSHORE WRECKS WITHIN A MILE OF THE BEACH.
  • CHOICE BAITS FOR FLOUNDER: LIVE BULL MINNOWS OR LARGER ARTIFICIAL WHITE CURLY TAILS. 
  • MANGROVE SNAPPER ARE CHEWING PRETTY HARD ON LIVE SHRIMP ON CAROLINA RIGS NEXT TO STRUCTURE AND BRIDGES.
  • SHEEPSHEAD ARE MOVING IN ON THE BRIDGES AND NEARBY STRUCTURE. WE ARE USING SHUCKED OYSTERS, FIDDLER CRABS, AND LIVE SHRIMP.
