October 2017 Fishing Report

Hopefully we are past all the hurricanes for this year and can get focused on fall fishing. The Destin Fishing Rodeo is here r and there is some fall feel to the air in the early mornings. I’m looking forward to some nice fall fishing days as the cooler days mean great days on the water!!

Near Shore Trolling !!

Kings are active most days trolling artificial and live baits over reefs, natural bottom and ledges. Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin and Sailfish are also on the menu. Everyday the temps are nicer and expect the Blackfin Tuna to get better and better!

Pier and Jetty Fishing !!

Kings at the pier most mornings now, some larger axe handle Spanish showing up throughout the day. On the pier and the jetties ladyfish and hardtails. Reds have been on the prowl at the jetties, use live shrimp or 1-2oz spoons off the bottom.

Bay Fishing !!

Trout on both ends of the bay, fish live shrimp and topwater plugs for the most action, Trout bite is best east of four mile point. Reds are the dominant catch and are biting around most bridges and deep water docks. Flounder are starting to move, the best ones now are coming those going gigging at night!!
